Eric Ballhaussen

Eric lives in JP with his wife Bria and son Wendell. He has been a member of River of Life and a resident of Jamaica Plain for nearly 8 years. His favorite thing about River of Life is the opportunity to know and be known - "The community at River of Life has an honesty and genuineness towards everyone that conveys the love of Christ."

Eric has spent his career working in food and food systems and is currently embarking on launching a new beverage business. Eric loves the way food brings people together and speaks beyond and through other barriers to understanding.

Ellen Bass

Ellen Bass is a grandmother who loves her family and friends, bike-commuting, being outside especially in hot weather, cooking, and helping us all grow in pursuing our unique purpose and in following Jesus.  She and her husband Jeff are (still) happily married after 37 years, having lived in Roxbury for the last 33 years.  They became part of River of Life when two churches and a ministry merged in 1994.  One grown son is a professional artist in Boston, the other lives with his family in the UK.  Professionally, she helps nonprofits focus on improving outcomes for the people and places they exist to engage.  As an independent consultant working out of the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, she helps nonprofits get clear on their intended impact and program strategy and learn to gather and use data to improve outcomes.
