Some of Our Guiding Values:
Refreshing Faith: It’s alive and inspiring to others
Real Faith: It’s honest with God, self and others
Relevant Faith: It’s up to date and practical
Radical Faith: It’s completely committed to Jesus
Redemptive Faith: It builds and serves our community and world

We are excited about God’s call and assignment to reach out to Greater Jamaica Plain. This is a diverse and varied community in almost every way, and we believe that God wants to use us to help develop a variety of expressions ministry and worship here. We want to do what we can to be spiritually responsible in this area, practically reaching out to people with tangible expressions of the love of Christ and serving and supporting others who are doing the same.

We want to have a simple/streamlined church-focus and plan for discipleship: to Connect with God, to Grow with each other and to serve our community. Yet, we want to be composed of a number of small “niched” ministries that are positively associated with each other for encouragement and support to better reach a diverse community and effectively make disciples. We would rather multiply many small expressions of faith than grow one large one.

We want our church and “the River Network” to be multi-ethnic in order to reflect and reach our communities. We also want to be creative, up-to-date - a people and place that have a “young feel” - that is attractive and welcoming to young people. We want to be involved in our community and make a positive difference.

We want to develop a “River Network” of 1000 people, composed of Life Groups, ministries and house churches. This network is made up of likeminded groups of believers that associate for leadership support and accountability, to share resources and gather corporately a few times a year. We want to maintain a “movement” atmosphere that is continually training new workers in worship, Kingdom ministry, leadership and church planting. We want to do whatever we can to serve God’s desire for spiritual renewal in Greater Jamaica Plain, Boston and New England.
